Fonts

Upload your licensed web fonts once, keep the licence evidence with them, and load them on your website with one stylesheet.

Atlas hosts your website’s fonts with their licence evidence. A font is only ever served while its licence allows web embedding and has not expired.

Open Design → Fonts and click Add a font.

  1. Enter the Family name and a Key. The key names the CSS variable and cannot change later.

  2. Under Files, weights and styles, upload WOFF2 or WOFF files (or pick them from the media library). For each file set the Weight (for example 400, or a range like 100-900 for a variable font) and Style (Upright or Italic).

  3. Add Fallback fonts and choose While loading: Show the fallback, then swap, or Use the font only if it is ready at once.

  4. Under Licence, record the Licence name, the date the Licence ends (if any), the Evidence and an optional Licence document, and tick The licence allows embedding this font on websites (@font-face).

  5. Click Add font.

Each font card shows how to use it, for example font-family: var(--atlas-font-brand), along with its fallbacks, licence and earlier versions. Click New version to replace files or update the licence; earlier versions are kept.

The card Add to your website gives you a ready snippet:

  • Any website: Copy link tag and add it to your page head. It loads one stylesheet with every active font of the site.
  • Next.js: Copy code for a server-rendered version.
<link
rel="stylesheet"
href="https://<delivery host>/v1/delivery/environments/{environmentId}/fonts.css"
/>

The stylesheet is cached for 5 minutes and font files are cached permanently, because every file version has its own address. Font files are only served to your environment’s website address.

Font changes reach Production with the next release, like content. Production serves only the font versions in its live release.

  • WOFF2 and WOFF only (no TTF or OTF).
  • Up to 32 files and 8 fallback fonts per font.
  • Fonts belong to one site; there is no shared organization font catalog yet, and no subsetting.
